Ring - Hello!

This is image Ring -  one of Sunday'e new release at DS4J shop this week.

This time instead of copics I used twinkling H2O. Talk about shine. It does take a little getting used to as it is a little bit opaque and wow the shine.
I did use stickles to make those black dots on the pink paper lace and swirls at the top on the orange CS.

Challenges I want to enter this card into

DS4J CHALLENGE # 67 – spring has sprung

The challenge #67 this fortnight at DS4J is Spring has Sprung.
Here is the theme (in quotes)

THEME : 'Spring has sprung'. The Northern hemisphere will be celebrating spring! Make a creation/card showing how you enjoy this season, whether it is chasing the lambs in the field, oohing and aahing the new blossoms on the fruit trees, or the fact that you will be seeing more sun! Go for it! The word SPRING should appear somewhere on your card.

Isn't it fun?
Weather this year is so finicky. Feels like winter some days and summer on others.
But it is flowering. Smell of jasmine and roses - Hmmm - Divine!
I have used a pretty image this week called Berry Pixie

Sure was a bit hard to do as I used a thick K&company paper to make the ruffles instead of a thinner pattern paper .Lots of learning curve. Because of all thickness unless you make the card top edges as box like to cover the sides it shows too much.  Inspired by Anna Griffin and Christina from Card making magic. Only one change I wish I had made, I wish I had colored the pixies top hat more flower like color instead of leaf like. Guess I thought green would pop up more than the orange when I was doing it.Added lots of stickles for sparkle
P.B. Shelley is one of my favorite poets along with Frost , Wordsworth and Tagore.
Anyone remember Ozymandias? inspired by  Ramses statue? One of my earliest reads was seeing it in Times  library books - Ancient Egypt.

Ozymandias
I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: “Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown
And wrinkled lip and sneer of cold command
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed.
And on the pedestal these words appear:
`My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings:
Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!’
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,
The lone and level sands stretch far away”.
-Percy Blythe Shelly

Oh I so digress from the card.
But this poem always gets me - so humbling isn't it? The Hand of Time.
Now I want to enter this card in some challenges

One more project today with yet another image from this week's release at DS4J shop.
This time I have the image on a bag instead of a card

Flower Power

We have some lovely images released at DS4J shop this week.
One of the image is flower power
The 60's. Well since I was born in late 60's my knowledge from this period is of course second hand ;)
But this image is so so cute and versatile

Not much to say about the card except see that sort of flower burst on the right - that is from a new memory box die I got. I cut the strip of paper in the center point half way line ( the die is sort of negative cuts - I have layered the orange paper over the blue paper so the blue you see is beneath where the die has cut out the orange) and punched a smaller circle to layer. The flower and swirls are from my stash - (wow I have had it for more than a year and not used it). Image colored with copics and edged with memento chalk ink

Ring Ring! Why don't you give me a call?

Remember that song by ABBA
Can't get that tune out of my head after seeing this cute image which is part of Sunday release back at http://digistamps4joy.co.za/eshop/ this week called "Misteri caller"
Fun thing is there is also a colored version available for those who don't want to color it themselves

Here is my card

I used spellbinder majestic elements die for frame and buckle. It was in fact 2 buckles cut out and stuck together. MS punch for the border strip.
The cell phone and flower and leaf are Jolee's stickers. I love the lace ribbon which I used. I think I got it from Micheal's
The image is colored using copics.
Skin - my go to - E13, E11, E00, E000 and E04
dress - Green - YG2 family and Pink - RV2. I do step up to the next family for darks.
The hair - E3 family. E77 and E79 , E50

Migdalia @ Crafting with Creative M --> www.craftingwithcreativem.blogspot.com
Brenda @ Friends Crafting with Friends --> www.friendscraftinwithfriends.blogspot.com

Here is a rocking card I made for the hop.
The image from Wee Stamps called Birthday baby boy.

I used copics to color up the image.
The card base is cut with spellbinder grand nestabilities circle die and the oval is decorative ovals also grand nestabilities. In the oval set except for the large die the rest do go in the cuttlebug. I kept the paper with the oval die in a cuttlebug embossing folder and embossed so that just the middle goes through. You do have to be careful while doing this technique as the die gets a bit warped so I would not use the delicate ones but just plain label ones and the plain shape ones for this. I also inked when the paper was inside the die so that just the inside edges get inked..
Added a bit of glossy accents to the cake icing, cherry and the boy's eyes
I have added marianne creatables flowers and swirls - LR0248, LR0249 and LR0250 which I got from http://dutchpapercrafts.blogspot.com/2013/04/marianne-flourishes-and-lifestyle.html. Darlene is such a sweetie and has good rates.
